Klaus Fortschegger, PhD

Cellular models for leukemia studies

My research focus lies on the generation and application of novel disease model systems to study the impact of particular genetic alterations on leukemia development. For this purpose we utilize amongst others human pluripotent stem cell differentiation, conditional protein expression and CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing. We expect these models to further prove useful for drug screenings.
