European Network for Cancer Research in Children and Adolescents (ENCCA) 01.01.2012

Funded under the 7th EU Framework Programme (FP7) and coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Ruth Ladenstein, MD (St. Anna Children's Hospital, CCRI, SIOPE-President)

13-14 January 2011 marks the official launch of ENCCA. This major project for the paediatric oncology community spans the paediatric oncology spectrum, from basic and translational research areas to drug development aspects integrating data from clinical trials, fostering clinical trials platforms, improved registry data, long term follow-up and survivorship needs. 

Strong connections with ICCCPO (International Confederation of Childhood Cancer Parent Organisations) are built as well as with the FP7-funded PanCare SurfUp project.

An interactive and sustainable European Network

On the International Childhood Cancer Awareness Day on 9th Febr. 2011, all relevant stakeholders from the European paediatric oncology community, including patients and families through ICCCPO, addressed burning issues with "a single voice" at EU Parliament level.

On 12 April 2011, the CCRI organised a press conference to present the EU funded Network ENCCA which represents a milestone towards an interactive and sustainable European Network of Excellence to the Austrian media.
